A Practical Opportunity for a Certified Journeyperson Electrician

This role is for an electrician others rely on to get the job done right the first time. You take pride in workmanship, understand safety and code compliance, and are comfortable working independently while collaborating with project teams and other trades.

First Technicall is looking for a certified Journeyperson Electrician with a strong technical foundation, clear communication, and a disciplined approach to safety on busy job sites.

You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems across Southern Alberta, supporting safe, high-quality work while contributing to a professional, organized jobsite.

What This Journeyperson Role Involves

This is hands-on electrical work, leadership through example, and active participation in project execution.

You will be trusted to work independently, support commissioning and testing, and collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to meet timelines and quality expectations.

This role is based out of Lethbridge, serves Southern Alberta and surrounding areas, and includes a rotating on-call requirement for Journeyperson Electricians.

Required Certification and Eligibility

This position is intended for certified electricians with recognized Canadian electrical credentials.

Qualified applicants should have

Valid Electrical Journeyperson/Journeyman Ticket (AB Electrical Board or equivalent)

Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence or higher and a clean driving record

Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, panelboard installation, motor control, and low-voltage systems

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Excellent communication skills and a disciplined approach to safety

Certification and Work Status

This position requires a valid Electrical Journeyperson/Journeyman Ticket through the Alberta Electrical Board or an equivalent recognized credential.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada and able to meet the role’s driving, safety, documentation, and on-call requirements.

The Work

This is hands-on electrical work across commercial, industrial, maintenance, and service environments, completed to Alberta Electrical Code, industry standards, and client specifications.

  • Solve field problems while keeping projects moving efficiently

You will work with project managers, engineers, clients, and other trades to support safe and organized project execution.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following company and regulatory safety protocols
  • Communicate clearly with project managers, engineers, clients, and other trades
  • Support project timelines while maintaining workmanship standards and clear documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting process enhancements or useful new technologies

Location and
Service Area

This position is based in Lethbridge, Alberta. First Technicall serves clients throughout Southern Alberta, so regional travel to project sites is required.

Company vehicles are provided for travel to and from job sites. Most work is structured so employees are home every night, and Journeyperson Electricians are required to be on-call on a rotating schedule.
