Frequently Asked Questions

1. What types of projects do you work on?

We work on commercial and industrial projects that require reliable electrical systems and, where needed, coordination with security, communications, and other connected building systems. This includes new construction, renovations, upgrades, and system improvements in existing facilities.

2. Do you only provide electrical work?

Electrical work is the foundation of what we do, but many projects also involve low voltage systems, security, communications, and integrated technical systems. Our services are structured so these systems can be planned and delivered together when appropriate.

3. What does “integrated systems” mean?

Integrated systems are building systems that are designed to work together instead of operating in isolation. This might involve electrical infrastructure supporting security, access control, surveillance, communications, or automation so systems are easier to manage and function more reliably.

4. Can you connect systems that were installed by different contractors?

In many cases, yes. We are often brought in when systems were installed separately and are not working well together. Our role is to assess how those systems interact and address issues where coordination or infrastructure is limiting performance.

5. When should we involve an electrical contractor on a project?

It’s best to involve an electrical contractor early, especially when a project includes multiple systems or future expansion. Early involvement helps avoid conflicts, reduce rework, and ensure systems are planned with long-term use in mind.

6. What if our systems keep failing or behaving inconsistently?

Ongoing issues are often the result of systems that were installed independently or not planned to work together. We help identify where problems are coming from and address the electrical or system-level causes rather than just treating symptoms.

7. What if different contractors are blaming each other for issues?

This is a common situation on complex sites. When we are involved, we take responsibility for how the systems we install or integrate function together, which helps eliminate gaps between trades.

8. Do you provide IT services?

We provide standalone IT services and managed IT support and are a Microsoft Authorized Reseller for all Microsoft software services. Network, infrastructure, and other IT-adjacent services are performed exclusively to support the systems we install, configure, or integrate, including security, access control, surveillance, and communications infrastructure.

9. Will you work with our internal IT team?

Yes. We regularly coordinate with internal IT teams, consultants, and engineers to ensure building systems align with existing network standards and operational requirements.

10. Do you work on existing buildings, or only new construction?

We work on both. Many projects involve upgrading or expanding systems in existing facilities, including electrical upgrades, renovations, and improving how systems function together.

11. Do you take on smaller upgrades as well as larger projects?

Yes. We work on a range of project sizes, from targeted upgrades to larger, multi-system projects. The focus is on doing the work properly and ensuring systems perform as intended.

12. How do projects typically start?

Projects usually begin with a conversation about the issue or goal. From there, we review requirements, assess the site if needed, and provide clarity around scope before work begins.

13. Do you provide quotes?

Yes. We prefer to provide clear pricing and scope upfront so expectations are aligned before work starts.

14. Who is responsible when multiple systems overlap?

When we are involved, we take responsibility for how the systems we install or integrate function together. This helps avoid confusion and ensures issues are addressed efficiently.

15. How do you approach quality and safety?

Quality and safety are built into how we plan and execute work. Clean installations, clear documentation, and inspection-ready work help projects move forward smoothly and reliably.

16. Are your teams qualified and experienced?

Yes. Our work is carried out by qualified electrical professionals with experience in commercial and industrial environments, supported by specialized technical capabilities where required.

17. Where do you work?

We are based in Southern Alberta and work across a wide range of commercial and industrial environments within the region.

18. Are you hiring?

Yes. We are regularly looking for Journeyperson Electricians and 3rd and 4th year apprentices. Current opportunities and application details are listed on our Hiring page.

19. What kind of people are you looking to hire?

We look for electricians who take pride in their work, communicate well, and care about doing things properly. Experience in commercial environments and an interest in learning are important.

20. Who typically contacts you?

Facility managers, business owners, contractors, and project teams usually reach out when they need electrical work completed properly, systems coordinated effectively, or existing issues resolved.
